I just found this nasty red...thing...on True. The border is raised and quite red. The center is darker and looks almost bruised. It's not itchy or bothering him.
He's gotten it within the last 12 hours and it's the only one I can find. I know this looks like ringworm (and that was my first thought) but I honestly don't know how he could have picked it up. He's had no contact with any other animals. Maybe a bug bite or bee sting?

The golden we used to have, and my son when he was young, both had something that looked a LOT like that - the vet and my son's doctor said they were spider bites. My son still has the scare 15 years later!
That does look like a spider bite. What general region do you live in? There are a few spiders in the south that produce a bite that looks like that. They range from the deep southern US to the Ohio river and sometimes a little farther north. The center of that lesion looks necrotic (that's the bruising) so I'd hazard either a brown recluse or sack spider. If you live too far north for brown recluse then it'd be the sack spider. Both have similar venom but that of the brown recluse is more toxic to humans than the sack spider.
I'd watch the center of that bite. If it doesn't start healing soon or gets worse then I'd have it checked out by a vet. Usually the best treatment for that kind of bite is antibiotics. There's nothing that can be done for the spider bit itself but antibiotics will prevent infection while the bite heals.
