I am looking for a black/red male GSD puppy from German lines in the SoCal area. Can anyone recommend a reputable breeder?
Time frame is end of this year, beg. of next year.
Jens,
I've written this several times before when folks have requested breeder recommendations in a small geographical area, so I'm repeating this again for your benefit.
You are looking for puppy that you will own for possibly the next ten to fifteen years. A puppy that will share your home, and share your time.
You owe it to yourself to look for the best puppy possible - please don't fall into the trap of only looking in a small geographical area that will severely curtail your search for a good puppy - be willing to travel if needed.......for a companion for the next decade, it's worth the extra effort.

Totally agree with Will.
Max came to me locally from Law Enforcement, Jesea is from North Carolina, Rock is from Michigan, Marley from North Carolina, Ember from Wisconsin, Nikki from North Carolina and Ajay the new dog is coming from Florida.
Paying shipping or driving to pick up is WELL worth the results you get.

Nikki from North Carolina and Ajay the new dog is coming from Florida.
What's this? Nikki? Ajay? New dogs I didn't know about? Girl you're gonna hafta update your sig pic. (hopefully they will all fit LOL).
Back on topic.
My dogs are all rescues.
My female is from a shelter in West Virginia that was closing (so they were going to euth all the dogs).
My male was born in my home out of a female I got from a gassing shelter in Georgia.
I have two fosters, one from the same gassing shelter in GA as the mother of my pup.
The second foster is from a heartstick shelter in Florida.
I live in Ontario.
My dad always joked when I got my first dog (the female) that there were no dogs left in Ontario, so I had to go all the way to WV to get the "last dog available". She is the most fantastic dog and fits my lifestyle exactly. She is perfect. Well worth the trip.
Distance is nothing to a lifelong companion! You sound like you know what you want, do not limit yourself to a certain area. You should limit yourself by the dog's parents, bloodline, pedigree, and breeder and how well their goals match yours.

Hi Jen
Good luck and have fun finding the perfect puppy for you. Black and red is normally found in the show lines and not the working lines. Are you looking for a showline pup?
