Need an opinion here before I make a decision: I have a dumb**s w/ a stud pug who wants to ditch the dog on me. He breeds it to his female and this time around the penis will not retract.
It's been a couple of days. He hasn't done anything for the dog. I haven't seen the dog.
How bad is this situation? I'm thinking if it doesn't look like beef jerky, I can lube it and try to get it back into the sheath.
if it's been a couple of days, a vet needs to see the dog. Today.
I have seen this happen (to a pup!) and he needed to have a purse string suture put in the end of the sheath to keep it from reoccurring since the skin had been stretched for a number of days.
Thanks for the reply. It may sound cold - but I'm not willing to pay money for this idiot's problem. I'll probably tell him he needs to go ditch the dog somewhere else.
Um - second thought - don't anyone freak out. I've done suturing before. What if I put some topical anesthetic on the penis/sheath and put in a stitch or two?

Let me make a suggestion:
This dog is having a health problem that needs a doctor's attention. It may not be an emergency but it sure isn't normal and it's been going on for a couple of days.
Call AC or the SPCA yourself and report this and get this dog some help.
ummm, perhaps i'm missing something here, and if i have please forgive me, BUT--you are basically allowing the guy w/the male to let his male live in misery for "a couple of days" and doing NOTHING?????
if you care a bit about the dog, call AC/SPCA like sandy suggested.
