Jumpin' Jack Flash is a rescue, he was scheduled to be euthanized twice because he likes to nip if he gets too excited.. So, figured I'd put the tendancy to good use
I have worked Jack as a helper and can tell you that he has more drive then most Malinois that have been training for two years!!
Speaking of Mals, that bitch Cindy, that you bred that is down here, we have been working with her and she is really nice. She has matured into a really nice female. I will get some video and post it so you can see her. She is pretty neat, we have about 35 dogs that train most weeks between here and Ocala and she is one of the better ones and that says alot as this is more then likley the most active part of Florida, with the exception of South Florida. You should be proud.
It is neat to see ACDs out there working :-) Is he yours Shelly? Here is a not so good video of my old boy doing some bitework - the first minute is all that is really interesting. The last minute is me talking to the helper and walking away :-p :
It is not very good video or training wise since I was just testing out my new camera and Poe had not done any bitework in about 18 months before I brought him on the field in this video (he is retired). He was almost 9 at the time this video was shot and was out there just having a blast. He got a late start in the sport and were it not due to previous injuries he would have gone far beyond his SchH A in the sport.

Thanks Mike, you and Art both have experienced the Jack Attack.. and he loves you guys too...!
Thanks Cindy and Cathy...I saw a spark in this guys eyes..and couldn't possibly pass up the opportunity to see if he had what it takes...and so far, he sure does.
Ingrid, he is mine, I adopted him early this year. He and my rottie have a love/hate relationship...he loves to annoy her, and she hates him getting any attention...
Looks like your guy loves it as much as Jack does...even if I never trial the little guy, (35lbs) he's a super blast to train!
Every time I work this dog I just cannot believe the insane amount of drive this dog has for the bite work and always engage the helper. Dog is afraid of nothing and wants to kill the sleeve, it is ridiculous. No matter how tired I am after working dogs all day, I always work this dog!!
It is a shame that GSD's have been watered down so much that you pray to get a dog as good as an ACD like Jack. To think they were going to put this fine animal down just shows me that the general public would not know the difference between their ass and 3rd base if they grabbed it with both hands.
Shelly is doing a nice job with him and we cant wait to see him to the BH at our club trial in December.
What a nice thing to show......a dog with a story like this on your own club field............it does not get any better then that. I know there must be pride to help a dog with a story like that and then enter him at your clubs trial and have your fellow club members there to cheer you on. And being it is a home field he will have his club helpers too!!! Boy I think Shelly will be busy with showing her Rotty and this guy in the same trial, but heck, that is what a club is for, to train and trial your dog. Way to go Shelly with what she has and will do with this guy!!!
Mike, I am not positive about Jack's BH yet, he still believes that the long down is a bit tooooo long... all that drive still needs a bit of channeling
We'll see if he's ready at trial time...
But I know Zari will be, thanks in part to Art's helper work.. So, if I forget to say it ...thanks Art! It has been a pleasure to watch you grow in the sport!
