I'm happy that this is not a dog related forum so I can post some concerns about gardasil vaccine. If you have daughters who you are considering to vaccinate her against HPV. Maybe you want to read what Erin Brockovich has to say about it. Here is her report.
That was the one vaccine that I didn't have to research. I did a little anyway.
It may be that this is the first big vaccine that was made and pushed since I started paying attention to this topic, but I cannot believe the blatant disregard to adverse reactions with this vaccine.
I'm very suspicious of this vaccine...but then again I'm like that with all vaccines (comes from working with autistic kids and an over vaccinated dog I suppose.)
Michael, there is actually a push in some circles to vaccinate boys with gardasil too. The vaccine can be administered to boys, to prevent them eventually giving HPV to women.

I'm the only one in my family (oldest of 6) who did not vaccinate their daughter with this vaccine. At that time I had no real reason, other than a healthy fear of vaccines from things I learned on this forum. I went with my gut, and have taken a lot of crap for it from people who think it is awful that I am not protecting my daughter. I'm so glad I didn't "protect" her.....
Abstinence before a lifelong monogamous relationship would be the safest thing to do.

That's the thing. Not *all* cases of HPV(nobody jump on me), but the ones that they are mainly targeting(STD's) come from a personal choice. Maybe you didn't know that one night stand had HPV, but you did decide to jump in bed with 'em.
I refuse to inoculate against stupidity. I think the chicken pox vax is dumb, too. Chicken pox can be worse on teens and adults, but we will cross that bridge IF we get there. I believe that vaccine is setting us up for a lot of problems in the future. Something like shingles that nobody will know what to do with. The side effects will probably be so far away from the time of inoculation that it won't get the blame, either.

Yeah, I agree. I did unfortuanatly give the chicken pox before I knew better to my two youngest. My two oldest had the disease and came out just fine. I worry that the younger ones may someday have the pox or like you say, unknown side effects.
I too heard there is a push to give the gardasil go boys.
