I have a male bloodhound who is about a year old, Jake. I got him a few months back, and have been working with him on OB alot! He never really had anyone work with him before, so the BF and I are the only ones to have tried to establish ground work, pack structure, and all of the good stuff.
Jake is dominant, and dog aggressive. We are working on this daily and managing the best we can.
We use the prong collar with him. BUT we can't get it to stay up in the proper position. All of his big floppy bloodhound skin makes the collar fall down around his neck. It is a struggle to keep the collar up, and many times when we are walking with him and correct him for unwanted behavior the collar will have slipped before we notice.
Also, it seems as if the collar will sometimes stimulate him into higher drive instead of correcting him. This does not happen every time, but it does happen.
Any suggestions on how to go about, fixing or managing these problems??
