FLOWER!!
Strangest thing. He's here with me at work. We went for a walk to the post office and he jumped at the sight of a flower. Not a botanist. don't know what kind it was. Maybe it smelled weird. I picked it and dropped it on the ground. He cautiously sniffed and then moved on. Same type of flower on next block. He was fine.
Sorry neighbor. My dog's mental health is more important than your flower.
Hillarious? YES. But for anyone following my other posts, did I do the right thing?
Roz
You did fine in my opinion. Did you ever think maybe there was a bee on the flower that you might not have seen and your pup did? You have to remember this is a pup and everything is new and interesting and yes sometimes frightening so just keep reassuring him that "It's ok and no it won't eat you" and you will do good. With my pup at least as far as other dogs go he is taught to ignore them and with other issues it's the same thing when we walk I want his attention on me and not every thing going on around him. He is taught that if we are aproached by people to sit and stay at my side and if approached by other dogs to circle behind me, sit and wait. Just keep working at it. Things dont happen over night but they do happen. Keep up the good work. You can do it! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Thanks Ann. I examined the flower before I picked it. No bee. Not that there wasn't anything peculiar about it that he could sense and I couldn't. Either way-it wasn't a threat and he needed to know that. I love him! He's a good pup! I'm just being paranoid and neurotic. I guess if he does have week nerves I might not know until he's older anyway so I'll just enjoy him for now.
