My lab is seven months old now and loves to play. However, I notice that a lot of the times when he plays he barks at me and will put his mouth on me. He never bites down hard enough to hurt me;and sometimes when he barks at me I will move my hand close to his mouth to see if he will become aggressive with me. He never does but should I be worried about this?
He is being a dog. This is what dogs do, and how they play. You can teach him not to. Dogs also greet one another by licking faces, but I teach my dogs not to lick (because I hate it). So when he does this (assuming you want him to stop) tell him to knock it off, give him a little pop on the collar or a push away, and ignore him for a bit. He'll get the hint.
Oh, and stop antagonizing him to "see if he will become aggressive" with you.
