I am trying to get my dogs on Vitamin E and Salmon Oil. I got both however the Natural Vitamin E pills and all Natural Vit E oils that I've come across contain Soybean oil or some form of soy. Normally it would be ok but one of my dogs is allergic to Soybeans and gets severe skin irritations etc...
I found this website that names sources of Vitamin E however I'm not sure how they affect canines...
According to this site soybean oil is very low on the lists of sources. I just wanna make sure if I find a source of Wheat germ oil that I'm giving the proper dosage and not over dosing the pooches. Does anybody have any experience in supplementing Vitamin E with any other source other than the standard softgels or oil that contain soy products?

Wheat germ oil? You mean, for the E?
I didn't even know that about soy in E caps!
Looked at my own and there is no soy, but looked online and WHOA! Surprise!
Yeah I thought the Wheat germ oil for the Vitamin E...never mind that idea.
Thank you very much for the links, I ordered some Unique E. It sounds pretty good...may have to try some myself to see if its true what they say will let you know...
Yeah about the oil I just looked at the bottles since they were right there and they all had soy. Good point though about the topical... although I did see one that stated it to be pure enough to be edible. Thanks again for the links.
This thread sent me to the cabinet to check out the E I give my two. I use the Kirkland brand from Costco and what do I see right there on the label: dl-alpha-tocopheryl acetate. I'm giving synthetic which is essentially useless! WTH!
Thanks for starting this thread, Ray. Now I can get some E which will actually be of some benefit.
Your Welcome Anna...I'm glad I was not the only one to benefit from this Thread
Yeah the "l" in the "dl"-alpha-tocopheryl signifies that it is the synthetic version and only half as active as the natural E (the d-alpha-tocopheryl)...it is NOT what we want to give our pooches or ourselves for that matter (at least according to the links listed above).
I found 2 different VITAMIN E's from the links Connie provided that contain the mixed fractions of tocopheryls the alpha, gamma delta and I forget the other one, with no fillers, no preservatives or any extras. I believe that the "Unique E" from what I read about it was the best one so I ordered a small bottle to test it out.
Connie, the mixed tocopheryls is what we want isn't it?
I figure if I become more focused and have better concentration and more energy as they state that it will be good enough for the pooches. Except maybe for the little pup (Working GSD 13 wks old) who is already bouncing off the walls
