I have a g/s mix that i feed raw and vit e and fish oil too, she is itching fur and chewing at the base of her tail and butt what could this be, i just washed her but she was doing this before the wash and no sighs of fleas but little blood marks on belly before wash and not so bad now after wash.
the cause could be several reasons not associated with the food. my friend has a rat terrier that is allergic to the grass, or it couls actually be something in the mix you are feeding. i'd try isolating different things
the dog is not on flea meds this is just something that started happening, ther is no paw itching or chewing, just some leg liking, what should i do , ther have been no sighs of fleas just some tiny blood spots on belly. she is a raw fed dog

A dog with flea hypersensitivity can be driven crazy by a single exposure.
Paw itching would tell me that it was probably an allergy.
Tiny blood spots also say "fleas" to me.
But you could comb/brush on a white cloth to check for both fleas and flea dirt. If a black speck turns red with a tiny drop of water on it, then it's blood (flea dirt).

I use Frontline a couple of months a year.
There are some very bad flea meds at drugstores, etc., that not only don't work but have caused major problems. Hartz (brand) and BioSpot spring to mind.
I'm all for natural remedies. I post here about Frontline, which I use in the two bad flea months where I live (September and October) because if the dog is hypersensitive, then he can end up with open skin and infection (not to mention his misery) from scratching madly.
I dont unstand this frontline is to protect the dog form getting fleas but dose it stop my dog from itching and start the healing process, looks like she was bit by fleas but has no fleas on her is this still a case for frontline or something else, we gave her benadril last nigh and this help a lot with the itchyness.
