Hi everyone!!
We're now practicing for an obedience competition next year and I'm having problems with heeling?I've always had a treat as a reward but now I'm slowly taking him off that..not completely ofcourse but to the extent that we could do the complete exercise!Anyway on leash the heeling is ok..could be better but not at all terrible.off the leash heeling becomes a nightmare..he slowly but surely ends up infront of me still with good "eye contact" but just in the wrong place!
My Bc is now over 2yrs and I think he should be able to do these exercises by now!Or could I be expecting too much?We practice almost every day..only for 10mins or so.
What are you doing when heeling with the dog now? What direction are you walking? Do you walk alongside a wall? Are you walking in a straight line, left circles, right circles?
Hi Mike!
We had practiced walking alongside a wall and our heeling was getting better but now its like he doesn't know how to do it any more? We're walking in a straight line...I don't dare to do any of the other moves bofore this straight line walking works..
