Up until about 5 years ago, I always had a parrot or cockatiel. I've been getting the urge to have a new bird in the house, but I knew I didn't want a screaming maniac like my Quaker was or a super large bird like the African Grey I had before.
I started researching and came upon a small central American parrot called a Lineolated Parakeet. Oh my gosh, they are cute, friendly and quiet (as birds go) I have plans to start marker training our new addition as soon as he settles in. He's only been here since yesterday afternoon. It's really hard to find a breeder, so I had to fly Cooper here from Arizona. It was weird going to the airport to pick up a bird.
I had a yellow nape amazon that was a neat bird. I could take him anywhere with me. Then I had a citron crested cockatoo that was an extra messy destroyer of everything.

Let's see, Jenday and Sun Conures, African Grey, Greenwing, Hyacinth and Scarlett McCaws, Goffin and Citrus crested Cockatoo....I was a bird freak when I was younger.
I wish Doug would let me have a bird. I kind miss them.
Until The Tale of the Lioness is told, the Story will Always Glorfy the Hunter
when i have a more permanent house, i will have a citron crested cockatoo, and a harlequin maccaw.
we have a 7 month old sun conure and a 4 month old blue quaker in the store that aren't getting sold, they are so bonded to us, and learning to talk. the quaker has quite a vocab for such a young bird, we are a little concerned.
we call them inappropriate names when customers aren't the store, and they are starting to get repeated....not good!!!!
the quaker likes me best, he gives me cuddles, and hides in my shirt. he bites everyone else.
I've always been an Eclectus person... The males are SO sweet and not prone to the attitude of many other parrot species. I'd like to keep the attitude in my dogs.
I have always had Blue Streaked Lorys . Beautiful birds that drink nectar; they even have litle hairs on their tounges! Problem is, it goes in sticky and liquid, and shoots out the same way at the other end. They are very messy birds...
I have an african grey, a miligold macaw, a citron crested cockatoo, a cinnamon green cheek conure, and 6 parakeets. Greys are my favorite by a mile. I've always loved birds. They are the only animals I like near as much as dogs.
I had a Goffin Cockatoo before and have had several Cockatiels one of which was best buds with my Keeshond. I miss having a bird and have been kind of researching to find a quieter bird (although I do miss my Cockatoo at times).
