Earlier today my boyfriend was making lunch, Loki was in his crate focused on the smell in the kitchen (he was fed scraps of human food in his first home). I was sitting on a couch beside the crate, my boyfriend came in the living room and bent down to kiss me, and Loki just went completely nuts! Barking and whining like I've never heard before. We didn't know what was going on but ignored it. Later my boyfriend sat down with me and put his arm on me and Loki went crazy again o.O He didn't look angry, there was no growling, just this high pitched bark, whining and whimpering. I have no idea why he does this. Any ideas?

I don't have any answers for why but Max has recently started doing something similar when my husband and I hug or put our arms round each other.
He jumps and sometimes tries to put an arm or something all the way into his mouth - not really biting but full mouth around whatever he grabs.
I assumed it was cos he wanted to be part of it or thought the attention should go to him. We just tell him no and ignore him, go back to the hug or whatever. We figure the more we tell him it's not ok the less he'll do it.
i'm no pro, but Thorunn, i would try ignoring all the noise initially-no reward either negative or positive.
Rhonda, i would correct Max if he was my dog--this is unacceptable behavior. i would probably (w/out actually being there) snap/flick him on the nose with my fingers. but i don't know how old/big he is now. but it's like leg-humping to me--if i want to kiss/hug my bf, the dog stays out of it for heaven's sake!! (i'm not into three-somes)
Yeah, the plan is to ignore this behavior. He also tries to squeeze himself in between when me and boyfriend are snuggling on the couch and Loki is not in his crate. Flicking on the nose might work in the situation.
