They called me to foster and tame her down sense I have experence with rabbits.
Oh by the way my foster rabbit found a great home also.
She is all of 2 to 3 inches.
And mean boy is she mean.
Anyone know any informative sites I can fine about these guys her name is dimond she is pretty just mean.

If she is a standard dwarf hamster good luck. Gently handle and yes, you will still be bitten. After that continue to gently handle and sometimes, they will get friendlier.
Sometimes just leaving your arm in the cage in the evening while the little demon is running around will entice it to step on your hand. Other times it will simply entice it to the taste of your flesh.
I swear the little buggars are spawns of satan and are my least favorite of the small animals we carry at work. For people looking for pets for kids I usually compare them to being furry goldfish. Best to just look at behind glass.

Oh god, they are nasty critters, aren't they? I really don't have any tips for you. When I have to get them at work I scoop them up with their igloo-house and plop them into a box. I've gotten bit by everything in the store and I swear the dwarf hamsters are the worst when they latch on. *shudders*

Dwarf Hamsters are mean. I have worked in pet stores since I was 15, and let me tell you, ask any honest pet store employee and they will refer to dwarf hamsters as "the spawn of satan."
This is, assuming of course you mean the Phodopus campelli dwarf hamster. The other dwarfs (Chinese, Winter White, Robo) tend to be nicer.
Campbell's Dwarfs only live for 1-2 years, 3 if you are lucky. They are full grown after about 8 weeks, but sexually mature at 5.
Now, they are not so much "mean" as defensive and territorial. They have very poor vision, and any motion above them will cause a defensive reaction. The trick is to scoop them up using an object, or come up from underneath. Many will only bite while inside their enclosure.
Eventually, it is possible to tame them, although it depends on the genetics. However, once tame, they must be handled constantly, as even a week or two of no handling will result in a hamster "mean" once again.
Sorry to nerd out, but I no longer work at the petstore, and needed to unleash some knowledge!

Wow. They sound delightful.
But at least there is a shot at taming them!

Sort of reminds me of what is easily the worst pet I've ever been around, a hedgehog a roommate took in from a friend. Certain animals are not meant to live with people.

honestly, i was SO excited to have a hedgehog in the house - i didn't read enid blyton books growing up for nothing - and sir stinkalot was the smelliest, grumpiest, bad natured animal i've ever encountered. we worked so hard to socialize him, and he was just foul (smelling, too....i've never encountered anything like it. we ended up having her keep her door closed and window slightly ajar at all times, it was so bad. might have not been great for her, but it was the only thing that made the apartment liveable. and she changed his bedding/cleaned out his litter constantly). it wasn't a permanent arrangement, and i'm sorry to say i was very happy to see sir stinkalot go.
