Hi All you Dutch Shepherd lovers. Thought someone out there might take an interest in what appears to be a full ( not mixed with anything) dutch shepherd that is at our local APL here in Ashtabula, Ohio. He is absolutly gorgeous! He has all the brindle markings. I would consider him myself if I didnt already have two large shepherds ( one of which is still a puppy)
My boyfriend found this dog wandering around a construction site and rescued him. He is people and animal friendly, hung out with my boyfriend and his dutchie for a couple days with no problems. Not sure if he is housebroken, he was kept in a heated garage for two days and had a couple accidents. The APL has neutered him since he got there a week or so ago. There has been absolutly NO attempt by an owner to seek him out ( nothing in our local papers, no calls to APL etc)
I am including the petfinder ad. Notice they mention he is energetic...maybe even 'hyper' haha..typical dutchie huh??
I can help anyone who might be interested with contacting APL or even partial transport, just let me know.
Have you got any more photos? That one doesn't show his body at all. Has the shelter checked for a microchip? Many working dog breeders will chip or tattoo their pups.
I will try to get more photos and print asap. I know the one they have on the petfinder site isnt the best. They always take the photo when the dog arrives and the animal just looks scared and confused.
I did contact the dutch shepherd rescue that you mentioned and Trudy wrote me back and said she will cross post to other possible websites for adoption or possible fostering situations.
