I have been reading most dogs like fish oil but my doesn't, any suggestions on how to make him eat it. I have tried putting it on raw chicken but he walks away. Also how long after the expiration date can it be used? Also my pup is around 30 lbs now how much should be fed, is there a formula to follow? Thanks Ron

Liquid or caps? What brand? Has it been refrigerated or at room temp? Degraded fish oil is worse than useless; it's a potential carcinogen.
Grizzley salmon oil from leerburg, has been stored in fridge. I looked again and expiration date is ll/08 so I guess I have a little more time. Smells very fishy.

Grizzly DOES smell fishy. It's not deodorized. Most dogs love that smell.
Storing in the 'fridge, while not essential for a pump bottle (which isn't constantly opened to the air the way a cap-top is), is a very good idea.
Next best is in a dark, cool closet, which is where many store pump bottles.
I would not store a cap-top fish oil anyplace but the 'fridge after opening, BTW.

Most of my dogs also decided grizzley fish oil was of the devil, so don't take it personally. So I finished up the bottle with my lab who would eat concrete if she could only get the bits small enough.
For the rest of them I use geltabs which they decided are the best treat on earth. These dogs also will eat raw fish so *shrugs*. To each their own. This time of the year I'm feeding smelt or herring once a week since they're free in these waters with a good dip net. You can always try that as well. Just remember balance is a good thing.
