I LOVE that poops now break up on their own after a few days!! Not to mention that there's less of it but it smells kinda funny. My friends have compared it to cat poop but to me it just doens't smell like it used to no more stinky dog poo smell. Don't get me wrong, it still smells, but just different. I assume it's the raw diet, but I just want to make sure this is normal and healthy
poops on raw do smell differently than poops on kibble, even grain-free kibble in my experience.
they smell like meat to me, but that's probably b/c i'm vegetarian and more sensitive to meat smell (whenever someone has meat for lunch at work i always check the bottom of my shoes b/c i think i stepped in something )

Hah!
You're right. It does smell different as do the dogs themselves based upon the diet they eat. I can always smell the ol Roy and Kibbles and bits dogs before anything else.
phew* what a relief that I'm not the only one. None of my friends feed raw (yet) so I don't have anyone to ask my silly questions to...except you guys.

Hmm I'll have to think of that next time I'm scooping
Haha Steve you were extended an invitation but it is your choice to decline.
Shabbado loves to eat (her own) poo, so on a raw diet it's hard to tell if she's been eating it!
That said, raw fed poo has very little smell, although it does have some smell but I can't really describe it. It certainly isn't the stinky stuff they had from being kibble fed. We don't generally leave it lying around long enough to see it crumble, although that might be hard to observe in the frozen snow anyways. Lynch has no interest in eating his poo so it's the only stuff I find laying around.
And the smell of the dogs themselves. Very little. And the reduction in shedding is very cool too. and this is all a difference in going to raw fed from grain free kibble!

Why can I not stop picturing you and your friends, on all fours out in the yard, debating dog poop?
