Since we've switched to raw (3ish months) I've noticed Kota's abdomen has been getting hard. It's not a set schedule. Sometimes before breakfast it's hard, and after he's eaten it goes back to normal. Or in the middle of the day/evening. I've read a little (here, petcenter, online stuff) and this is not often a symptom of bloat. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac especially when it comes to the dog. I thought I'd check here before freaking out and going to the e-vet.
The reason we're not at the vet right now is that where he is 'hard/firm' is from his last (smallest) rib all the way back. The pics/x-rays I've seen the stomach is under the ribs and the intestines/colon is further back where I'm talking about.
No not at all. He was farting earlier and burped a few times, but not in the past few hours. He's sleeping in his crate, no problems lying down or anything.
The only symptom he ever gets is the hard abdomen I wouldn't call it swollen though. He can usually/almost always walk/pee/poo and still be hard afterward. As I said I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so I freak out over little things, especially since bloat is relatively new to me and I've been reading a bit on it.
