Hello, I am military stationed in Germany. I got my GSD with copies of her sire's papers and her dam's tattoo number. All of these papers are in German and I was told by the person that sold her that she can be registered with the AKC. But I am not sure if I have what I need. I can email copies of all the papers I have if someone can help me. Thanks a bunch.
Thanks for the info. No reason for them really, I thought about having one litter, but not sure. I would like for her to do agility or something fun like that for excercise and fun later when she fully develops. I didn't know if she needed to be registered to participate. My first time wanting to do anything like this with a dog.
Because working German line GSD’s don’t walk on their hocks and while moving, look like there is a weight hanging off of their testicles. Their heads are not shaped like Collie’s and they have substance enough to do work i.e., run, jump and turn quickly. Oh and another thing working GSD's look forward to work and don’t look like they have just seen a ghost.

If you are going to compete with your dog in agility in AKC, then yes, she'll need to be registered. If you compete in UKC, she'll need to be registered with that registry. Other venues, which allow mixes as well as pure breeds, don't require such registration. And, if you just do it for fun in classes and at fun matches and that kind of thing, registrationg isn't required, either.
Before you even think about breeding this dog, why don't you do a search on this site for breeding topics? You'll learn a lot.
Thanks for the info. I will try to register her with the parents info I have. She is still a while out from being old enough for puppies but if I do, I will definitley do my research first on this site.
FYI-I know AKC says send the original SV papers, but I have been advised by a trusted source to only send copies. They accept them if you don't give them a choice, LOL.
