I love this site. So much useful and common sense information. A little about me and my pooch...I live in NZ and have a 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch. Great dog and I love her to bits. My favourite pic of her is this one...
She is 10 weeks old in this pic. I just love the cute wrinkles. Wish my wrinkles wear as appealing!
I have some past experience in obedience and agility, and am very interested in dog behaviour (psychology). I am currently teaching my dog how to wave, because we all know how useful that can be. I look forward to getting to know you all better.
Oscar is THRILLED to see another RR on the board... and a GIRL his age no less!! (my boy will be 4 this March) Simba is just gorgeous.

Haha - but has Simba realized that waving in front of strangers is even more effective than that wrinkly forehead and doe eyes when it comes to soliciting treats?! If there's anything a Ridgeback learns fast, it's a shortcut to more food!
Looking forward to having you & Simba around, and best of luck with all your training goals.
Thanks for the kind words. Photography is one of my hobbies, and I really love it, although I don't spend nearly enough time practising and getting better at it...most of my pics are still not the best, but every now and then I fluke a good one!...lol.
What part of NZ are they in?
Hey'a again Natalya,
I wish we lived closer and they could play together. Oscar sure looks like he could handle her over rambunctuous play! She is totally intimidating to many dogs...she is not normal I tell you. She doesn't know how to greet properly, she just stalks and pounces and then wonders why they run off yelping! She means no harm, but is quite a strong, intense girl....a little like her mum I think...lol.

My goodness, I simply can't imagine what THAT'S like!!
Thank goodness Oscar is mellowed in his old age, but when he was a youngster, well, I think a friend put it best when she told me he was "all full of piss and vinegar"! And as I understand, that's perfectly correct behavior from a Ridgeback...
