Great clips, Cindy! Rush is looking like a rockstar.
For the retrieves, did you get him solid on one item and then start to mix it up, or use lots of different stuff from the start? It's looking really clear; awesome work!
wow, what a dog Rush is...and trainer too Cindy! It is really a joy to watch you work your dogs: I am always amazed at their consistent performance. Great job!
Damn, watching you, makes me feel like a clown on wheels. You have great posture and body control.
Rush isn't bad either . I have a question about the Minnie Mouse retrieve; does he ever try to kill her? I love that you have trained with markers and no corrections. But I know my prey driven boy at 16 months would have destroyed Minnie; how do you work around things like that?

thanks very much for the kind words. when I watch myself on video I feel like a super dork.
All those items Rush retrieved were new to him, so he'd never met Minnie before. in the context of the work we do, he understands his job is to pick up what I throw and bring it back while holding it calmly in his mouth. some items he encountered that weekend threw him for a loop (like a rubber chicken that squeaked) but if he would even START to tear up the retrieve items I would use my negative marker NO, and make him do the whole exercise over again.
I guarantee if I threw Minnie on the floor at home when we weren't training and didn't watch him, he'd probably beat the stuffing out of her. Rush is also an extremely busy and prey driven dog, but through the marker system knows the rules. They are very clear to him and it makes our relationship much more fun.
