ok, now i've seen this guy on tv and generally don't like his ideas or way's of thinking conerning dog training, but this video is very disturbing to me.
Since when is smacking a dog on the nose an acceptable correction for getting his attention back on you? How are you suppose to earn a dogs trust by doing that? Plus he hit it on the nose once it was looking back at him!!!
Since when do you give that hard of a correction to a dog for forging ahead? Well IMO it was too hard of a correction for that dog.
that poor dog is scared sh**tless and is very confused from what I can see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=CA&hl=en&v=uYXOnoRr0Do
Who is this guy? That dog is definitely afraid of him and very confused. Is he a self proclaimed dog trainer?
I touch my dog on the snout for her attention but never a smack, that was just mean. This video should have been titled "Ways to make make your dog afraid of you and not respect you".
What an idiot. I feel awful for any dogs under his 'tutelage'.
There's another video there of him teaching a husky not to go the "wrong" way around trees/posts while jogging on lead with him... looks like the poor dog is going to loose his head every time!!

Yes, he has a television show here in Ontario called
"at the end of my leash"
he's Canadian, so i doubt he's well known (lol) but you can see other video's of him in the "related viedo's" section of you tube.
I've watched his show, and like I said generally don't agree with his logic (says dogs NEED to hang out with other dogs, wants you to not talk to the dog for a week to prove you are above him in the pack blah blah)
I think my natural reaction would have been to hit him in the face like that to see how he likes it. I remember being at a Flinks seminar and Bernhard would put his hands in your face if he saw you petting your dog on the face, over the eyes.
So I guess what is good for the goose is good for the gander..right?? This idiot sounds and looks like he has a very warped sence of what dog training really is.
