I have an 8 wk old GSD puppy whose tail curls back over her back especially when she gets excited. No other litter mates or previous litters have ever had this problem. Will this correct itself or is there something I can do to correct it. She has good conformation etc otherwise.

If you look at my page on Rush (now 17 months old) and scroll down to his 7 week old photos you will see his tail looks husky-esque. http://www.kaiserhaus.com/rush.htm
he now has a completely normal tail carriage and never curls it over his back at all.
unless you have plans to show your dog in conformation, and you like everything else about the pup, I wouldn't worry about it.
Hi, Look at my puppy page http://www.vommayhausgermanshepherds.com Since that photo her tail set greatly improved to almost normal the last time I saw her, not sure why she went through that phase. She has since been sold and her new owner advises her tail set is now normal and he plans to show her.
Her dam is out of VA1 Bax von der Luisenstrabe and the sire has excellent lines also. Since I wrote her tail set was almost normal when I sold her. Her new owner advises her tail set is now completely normal. Not sure why she did that.
I am the breeder and have never had anything like this. Her tail set had almost completely corrected itself when I sold her. Her new owners now tell me her tail set is completely normal and they are planning to show her. Both dam and sire have excellent VA1,V etc lines.
