I watch John and Kate plus 8, if anyone else follows the show, they'll know that the Gosselins recently bought 2 GSD puppies. Don't know where they got them, I believe they are brother and sister, and here is the link to the photos of the pups: http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/jon-and-kate/slideshows/puppies.html
I, personally, would not have gotten 2 puppies in one shot, especially with 8 kids! I think it was a crazy idea on their part and I hope they realize what they're in for-one of the upcoming episodes shows one of the pups ate one of the kids toys and they have to go to the vet! They just got the pups around Christmas.
Just wanted to share and see what others opinions are on this.

I have to admit I've never watched it. 8 children seems excessive to me.
But if I did have 8 kids, 2 puppies would not be on the horizon for me. Frankly, I wouldn't want ONE puppy in that situation....but that's just me.
Edit: I just read she's only had 2 pregnancies and they're all through fertility treatments. Still, if I had 6 babies, I'd be asking friends if anyone wanted one

They admit that they know nothing about owning a dog and obviosly haven't done much research!
Soon after that show aired there was another thread started on this topic. It made for a lot of interesting discussion.
I just hope they are able to find some good dog trainers and will be watching intently to see how two puppies works out for them!

Wow.....
A) I'd never sell anyone two pups at the same time, especially for a novice.
B) I'd never sell a pup to a family with six small children - they can hardly handle that many kids, much less a pup.
And yet they got two pups.....sorry, the dumba*s title seems appropriate here.
Bad, bad idea........

It's tv hype. Good for ratings. I personally have never seen the show but maybe the general public is sick of the kids and puppies will infuse some drama...
Who will they call in for the upcoming training issues?
Victoria? Caesar? Anthony Jerome?
Tell you what. I'll watch the show if they have Ed or Will come on and give their advice!

Sooo....you wouldn't want one? Just think 'brown-haired female pup with stable temperament; be the one to call this pink-collared girl your own!' or 'Hurry and you can have the pick of the litter! Titled parents exceptional producers of well-rounded babies(edit: babies! not pups! Heh)'

Will, everything you said, was exactly what I was saying out loud while watching! I couldn't believe that not owning a dog before would have been a heads up for the breeder (who is a cop or friends with a local PD, what I gathered from the episode) to not let them have TWO pups. Especially with 8 kids total.
Even if it is a ploy for ratings, I think it's ridiculous. Kate says that she could have gone her whole life without owning a dog. Her reason for getting the pups was because her kids had beenn bothering them for a dog for a long time. I can understand the pressure, but come on. Be a responsible parent and pet owner.
I have never, or would ever, bring home 2 or more pups at one time. If I'm breeding dogs and someone says they want 2 pups, I'd be asking a LOT of questions before saying "sure, why not, you on tv or something?"

So I was watching Jon and Kate plus eight. Did anyone see the episode where they had to take their GSD puppy to the vet because one of the kid's toys got stuck in her? The whole episode just infuriated me. First off they get two GSD puppies with eight kids in the house and six of them are under the age of four! Throughout the whole episode I saw so many warning signs. The male puppy was jumping on the four year olds and knocking them down. Not a good thing obviously. There was no house training going on that I could see. The puppy would pee on the carpet and the little kids would say, "You're have to go outside." And then the dog was vomiting and sick for a week before they took it to the vet and discovered the toy. Come on! One puppy would be a huge responsibility for this household but two. It was a very annoying episode to say the least. I'm concerned that when these cute puppies grow up there are going to be some major issues with dominance. This is due to the complete lack of pack structure in the house. I would recommend with a family that size you wait until the sextuplets are at least 9 or 10 before you bring in a puppy. And start off with one. Just my two cents.
