Hello! I posted a couple times already and finally found the introductions forum.
My name is Sharon and I love in Northern California (near Sacramento) with my husband.
We just purchased a female GSD and her name is Caprica (pronounced like Capricorn but replace the -ron with and -uh). People always look at us funny when we tell them her name, but we like it. (You get a gold star if you know where the name comes from.)
I hope to do some Schutzhund work with her when she is older, but we are expecting our first baby this fall and I'm not sure how my life will change once we have our little one. However, I think it's good for both the GSD and myself to have a hobby and to get out of the house a couple times a week.
As for work, I'm a web developer and I do all sorts of special projects for the company I work for, including web site design, graphic art, photography, and video production. I also have a degree in fine arts: 3d computer animation. I'm studied 3d modeling and texturing at the Academy of Arts in SF and I'm looking forward to doing some 3d models of Caprica when she's older. I'm also working on developing a website about GSDs that will probably have some basic info, articles, photos and breeder listings for my area as I learn more and more about the breed.
Anyway, here are some pictures of my Caprica at 11 weeks of age:

But it could certainly be wrong! Wikipedia is what it is: very useful, but not always authoritative.
