I train for Schutzhund and in our off time, learning these tricks is a great, no-stress method of bonding...plus, every time she masters a new one, I've learned a bit more about dog training...so no...I don't think they are stupid at all...just a phrase She has her CGC, T.T. I even go to the trouble of putting a red kneckerchef on her to make her more friendly appearing. When I see people, particularly kids, start to get unnerved I make her do a cute trick which calms most everybody. If that doesn't work the person shouldn't be out in public anyway.
