I want to order an Egge for Yote since he loves to play with big beach and soccer balls, but they always pop after a few times.

But I am wondering if it is a hard type of plastic?...
and if so, if it will hold up to being played with on concrete.

We have a lot of driveway and concrete patio area in our backyard so it is inevitable he will be chasing/pouncing on it not just in the grass.

It is almost indestructible. It is very hard plastic. Concrete will scratch it but not destroy it.

Pouncing on concrete may be tough on your dog.

It will hold up fine.

I have a 10" hard plastic ball (made by the same company) that has held up for years on the pavement. He actually seems to have more fun with it in a hard surface than a grassy one; it moves faster/farther. We go to a local community college at night and I toss it into the parking lot and let him have at it for 10 min then move him to the grass.

You can also add water or sand to increase the resistance in the balls to give a better workout.

Thanks! I don't mind scratches a bit, I was more concerned about it cracking or totally breaking.

I do my best to keep him in the grass and re-direct his toys back to the grassy area, but some concrete contact is gonna happen.

I always run him on softer surfaces as well.

I might have to look into the balls as well, he needs all the exercise he can get.

Those all rubber tennis size and a Chuck It is what I use to really wear mine out. I don't know how much room you have but those rubber balls can be fired farther than a tennis ball or even the ball that come with the Chuck It.

I give 3 dogs all the exercise they can handle since last summer and the balls look new.

Our back yard isn't big enough for a chuck it, and he has to be in a fenced in area.

There is a fenced in playground nearby that we can go to late at night and I use a chuck it for that, but most of his off leash running is done in the backyard.

My 15 month old male GSD went through TWO eggs in the period of a just over a month. He figured out how to grab the top of the egg without it popping out of mouth, and then proceeded to shred the top off it (the rest of the egg was just fine). He absolutely loved his egg (he'd push it around, bury it halfway into a hole and dig it out, etc.), but they were too expensive to replace. And for the record, he was never left alone with it for long periods of time; I only left it available in the dog run for one or two hours, or we played with it together while I was outside doing lawn work.

Sigh. I might cave and buy him ONE more but man, I'm limiting his access to it. Seriously, he was addicted to that damn egg. One day when my classes ran late, I arranged for my mother-in-law to pick him up and bring him back to her house; when I came to pick him up in the afternoon, there was the mangled egg lying forlornly on her patio. I told her that was good of her to bring it along, but she said she didn't pack it. Mojo wouldn't leave without it! When she let him out of the dog run, he made a dash for his egg, joyfully brought it into her car, then happily gazed out the car window with the egg cradled between his front legs (I love my mother-in-law).

Hans has figured out how to grasp it with his front paws so he can get his mouth around the top of it, more or less, and try to chew on it, more or less.

If we kick it or throw it he goes after it, then he "grabs" it while we try to kick it away from him. It is a lot of fun.

That's amazing! My dogs destroyed every toy except that Egge.

Raine found a way to get a hole into the top of it so she could carry it around in her mouth. I am glad this thread is started because I have been wondering about if she was the only dog to figure out a way to modify it to her needs

She goes a little nutso with her EGGE and I think finding a way to carry it around has helped her sanity a little.............
