Glen Crawford came over to Montana worked our dogs. It was a fun weekend and both Frost and I are wiped out :-) It was great for Frost because she had only been worked on our club helper and I was concerned that she might not transfer well. However, there was no problem and she had a blast.
Glen was able to point out some obvious things that we never considered - she needs shorter sessions since she is so small and immature (mentally and physically). Her jaw literally gets tired from carrying a regular sleeve due to not have well developed jaw muscles and petite frame. So we are going to back up to short sessions and work on building her strength up.
All in all it was a great confidence booster as Glen said he really liked her and thought she had potential. My local group has always said that but I look at their opinion sort of like parents who always think their kids artwork is brillant - just a tad biased :-p It was nice to get affirmation from an outside source.
Thanks all :-) Frost is a pistol. She is never going to be a knock'em down dead in protection but she is fun to work. Will, never fear, you are on my list of prospective puppy buyers ;-)
However, it is always a crapshoot with ACDs as to whether they will do the work or not. I am hopeful that she will pass on her drive though.
She doesn't need to knock 'em down to knock 'em out
She looks good ... and glad I'm not the only one dealing with 100lbs of attitude in 35lbs of blue body!
Looking at this video, she sure didn't seem too interested in the sleeve after it was dropped, she was watching that man! lol! Very cool to see her maturing, she looks great Ingrid.
