I just started, this evening, giving Kaiser his Vitamin E and fish oil. They come in capsules so I poked the Vit E with a tooth pick - no problem. Then came the fish oil - tried poking with a toothpick - no luck - so I had to cut a slit in it. So far so good until the wife got home. She's got a nose better than Kaiser's !!!
At any rate, my hands smell like I've been handling fresh fish from the Atlantic Ocean for the last week !
Question is - how in blazes do you get the fish oil smell out of your hands and in the future OFF your hands? Right now the wife is telling me, "If you don't get rid of that smell you can spend the night on the couch!".
Ouch.
So, I'm pretty much on the couch and on the first floor with the dogs tonight. I'd like to get back to bed tomorrow. How do I get this oil out of the capsule without it making me smell like the Creature From The Black Lagoon?
Gloves are an expensive option - any other ideas ???
As for removing the smell, try peroxide & baking soda. That's a pretty strong oxidizer. Probably a cup of hydrogen peroxide and a couple of tablespoons of baking soda should do the trick.
Doing the dishes by hand is also pretty good for removing the odd smells from your hands.

leave it in the capsule -- they are digestible.
Not only that, but on the few occasions when I have given gelcaps instead of liquid, the dogs acted like they were caviar, picking them out first like some fabulous appetizer.
They treat E-caps the same way.
You'll probably end up switching to liquid, because at a gram per ten pounds of dog, capsules can get ridiculous as the dog starts reaching the 4-5-6-7-gram range.
I would just prick the pills with a pin and squeeze out a tiny bit. I used to have to feed them with hotdogs but now they will gladly eat them...it just takes a few tries and minutes for them to chew, spit out, lap up, chew, repeat.

did your wife tell you that? That's what I tell my bf to get him to do the dishes...your hands will be so soft and clean after, all the paint will be removed....
