Just yesterday I took all my big beasts in to the vetrinary clinic in Bismarck. I like the vets there better than the one in the small town I live in.
Otto had his blood drawn to check his thyroid levels. They are at a good level now, so the meds he's on are the right dose. He has some scratches on his eyelids and the vet checked and didn't see any scratches on his cornea, so that's good. He's on eye drops for that for 10 days. He's 80lbs and besides the eye and thyroid, he's in good health.
Shaed is at 70lbs, no health concerns with her. Vet said she looks really good. I did discuss getting her spayed sometime this summer before she goes into heat again (probably about a montha and a half) and before the vacation. Vet said no problem.
Lily is at 115lbs and 9mo old. No health concerns with her. Vet says she looks good, too. Also discussed spaying Lily this summer and also having her back dew claws removed during the spay, I don't want them to catch on something and rip and have an emergency surgery and vet bill for something that should have been done by the breeder in the first place :P Vet was fine with that also, just need to remind them when I make the appointment and when I bring her in.
We have switched the dogs back over to a dry kibble-Innova EVO. The dogs are doing good on it. Shaed will actually eat it. They get half in the AM and the other half in the PM-works well with Otto's pill schedule.
Just thought I'd let ya'll know how my beasts are doing.

I completely misread the first line of you post initially.
For a second I thought you were attempting to usurp my (self-proclaimed) title as most risque poster.

Yeah, I'm glad they went great, too! The all got baths the day before also, so they wouldn't smell up the vet office- -they were getting mighty stinky.

Oscar's breeder CLAIMED to have removed his dewclaws, but when we got him home we noticed there were still little nubs there - instead of proper dewclaws they're actually deformed now because the botched removal left only partial tissue to regrow... we were pretty mad about it - how could you NOT know if you removed a whole toe?! (I'm sure all of her show puppy's feet look picture perfect...) Anyway, it looks a bit odd, and the nails are VERY difficult to trim, and he has torn one before... but our previous vet said the surgery to remove them from a large adult dog was often more trouble than it was worth, claiming the wound site is difficult to keep closed and clean...
Keleah, did your vet discuss healing difficulty at all? Was our vet just being dumb and lazy? (which I wouldn't put past them AT ALL) Anyone else have experience removing dewclaws on an adult?

I forgot to add something about Lily.
The vet here had said that she wanted us to get Lily spayed when she was 5-6 months old and that there was no proven scientific research out that said that s/n a giant breed pup that young was harmful to their growth-whatever.
Anyway, part of her reasoning for spaying Lily so young was also because her genitals were very small. It was too small and didn't want to have any complications later on. I didn't understand it then...
Neither did the vet in Bismarck, when I told him this he said "I don't know what she means by that", and that puppies go through hormonal things that can make their genitals bigger than age appropriate or the growth doesn't keep up with the puppy. Made sense to me. Alot more than what the vet here said.
Probably because it was bogus and a ridiculous claim/ploy to try and get me to spay my dog so I'd have to come in and pay more money for the later health problems that would occur. My hubby said she probably got her degree out of a cracker jack box-I guess you never know what you'll get in one of those things.
