I have one 7 monthsold GSD female and a 8 weeks old gsd male that live in the same room but in different crate. I let them meet once and play together.Ever since then they are seperated at all time except living in th same room. Is it okay ?
I have another question about my 7 months old female GSD. She seems shedding more than normal shedding. I furminated her everyday for more than 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night after that i brushes her for 5 mins ,but her hair just keeps on falling off (been 3 weeks) Vet said it's normal,Ist normal ?????
My husky cross is moulting right now, so while neither of my GSDs are shedding beyond what you would expect for this time of year, maybe your 7 mo old is a moulter.

My experience with shedders (GSD and Corgi) is that they have a couple of times a year when they "blow coat," meaning a spell of greater-than-normal shedding. I think the timing of the blowing is seasonal and may vary from place to place---triggered by temps? daylight? who knows.
But GSDs are notorious shedders year-round. I think that at 7 months you may just now be experiencing the first "adult" coat of a GSD. Puppy fuzz doesn't shed in the same way. An adult GSD coat sheds constantly and (according to my vacuum cleaner) profusely. That, plus the seasonal coat blow.
Welcome to the wonderful world of owning a shedding breed. Buy a good vacuum. Brush regularly. Feed good food. And lower your standards of home cleanliness.
... And lower your standards of home cleanliness...
I have muddy footprints as well as hair all over my house at the moment (I haven't vacuumed in 2 days).
My two have not blown their coats yet this year; when they do, it looks like a dog was blown up in the back yard. So, sounds like your pup is doing his first "coat blowing".
Thanks to everyone of you. I think I will go to VET today to see if it is normal for Mura (7mon)to SHED THIS MUCH WHOLE DAY WHOLE NIGHT FOR THE WHOLE MONTH.I will get back to ya all after vet.
What do you mean when you say "they live in a room"?
Of course they shed day and night. They shed around the clock. I would wager the pup is blowing the puppy coat. Either way, it's your call if you want to take the pup to the vet.
