Alrighty, for those of you not getting the Leerburg Newsletter ( and if you're not getting it...why? It's a *great* resource! ) , let me announce that all is right with the world...Michael Ellis is going to be offering a 16 week long school for dog trainers! http://leerburg.com/michaelellis.htm
The announcement is just in between the first video ( leg bites with Rush ) and the photo of Michael working Fetz on the sleeve. ( Go Fetz Dog! )
And please scroll down to the bottom of the page and just see that look of pure joy that Michael has on his face working the dogs....*that's* what is missing from so many trainers today, the pure love of doing the work. This man is an artist , he knows the craft and he is a gifted communicator.
This has been the first time that I've ever really been tempted to go to a Trainers School ( I've had several friends go to the various Training Schools and upon their return, I'd always ask them "Would I learn anything at the School"?.......and I've never gotten a "yes" answer there... ).
Michael Ellis makes learning a rewarding experience ( hence so many of us urge *everyone* to attend his seminars ) and I have no doubt that spending 16 weeks with him would provide any serious student of Working Dogs the tools for life-long success.
And as far as the up comming Leerburg videos featuring Michael Ellis.......I'm sure those are going to end up the "go to" videos for most topics, I'm really looking forward to them!
Michael is worth the trip to CA :-) I am VERY picky about who I works my ACDs in protection for various reasons and he is one of the few that I would not hesitate to hand the leash over to. He is a gifted trainer and just a plain cool guy to hang with at the end of the training day.
I am still pondering whether I will have the financial ability to hit his seminar in Bozeman this Memorial Day weekend as I am going to UT the next weekend to take some private lessons with an AKC obedience person with Frost and hopefully meet up with Glen Crawford to work Frost in protection. I am considering eating ramen for the next few weeks in order to make a day or two of Michael's seminar :-p
Another great trainer I believe is Lisa Maze who used to live in San Diego, CA. Has anyone met her as well? I know she is one of Micheal's good friends currently resides in Texas.

Anyone have any clue as to when more info is going to be out for his school? All I hear is "in a couple of weeks" or "soon". That was 3 months ago, i'm starting to get a bit antsy.

According to the Leerburg announcement, it wasn't happening until August... Michael Ellis
Yea I have already emailed him about a month ago, and he said it would be out soon. I know he is very busy and he is probably working hard on it so I don't want to bother him again.
