I can't come up with the appropriate words to express my sincere appreciation for this young man, and for all of our soldiers, as well as their families - who serve in their own special way. THEY are what make this the greatest country in the world.
Timely, as I attended a yellow ribbon ceremony for my son and his peers today. He is assigned to the 1115th transportation division. It is part of the 41st Combat Brigade. They head to Iraq to guard convoys throughout that nation.
Good luck, God's speed and protection to them all. I will wait, and worry, and wish I was there in his stead the entire deployment.
Damn this war, but I am proud of my son and his contribution and that of his comrades.
