Hi, I have a Dutch Shepherd arriving next month and I am looking for a little help. This will be my first trained working dog. I have always had boxers in my life and at this moment I have a female who turned 2 last week. I have always been intrigued by shepherds and mals, I have spent some time with a K9 officer who has a Mal. I have a trainer set up to work with the dog when I get him at 8 weeks. I have been doing alot of research and I am looking for input on what to do when I first have the puppy. Should I do some imprinting at my house? If so, what should I use and how should I start him into it. Basically I am looking for advice to start my dog off on the right foot. He will be a trained PPD. Any input is much appreciated along with any advice on any topic you might have for me.
where did you get your dutch pup?
who's doing the training?
usually the breeders of dutch shepherds provide traing and advise.the ones i met that is, and there are not that many breeders outside europe.
