Now I didn't think this would happen but I'm wondering why it is? Not complaining of course as I think it's awesome. I've noticed when I'm practicing with just her and me. We go to my trainer's arena to practice, she gets distracted much easier and isn't as attentive.
When we're in class, she's doing great on all her exercises and is being much calmer around the other dogs. I can get her to glue her eyes to mine with a simple 'watch me' Could this be related to 'drive'? I still have to get the Building Drive and Focus dvd. Any tips on how to get her to be the same in practice. She's got some fave toys but sometimes just gets silly with them.

We took one obedience class when Kasey was about a year old and he was the same way. I think it was because he didn't feel as comfortable in the class as he is at home, so he paid a lot more attention to me because I was his security. As we practiced at home, he got very attentive at home also. Now we don't do group classes because of the reasons Ed has explained in a lot of his articles and DVDs. Our class, at least, had a couple of very dominant dogs that gave off bad 'vibes' to the others and the trainer wasn't good at 'being the boss'!
