Just thought I would say hi, hope Im in the right area Im new here and Live in Scotland in the UK with my Husband, a year old black Standard Poodle and an African Grey Parrot.
I am just getting into Clicker training my Poodle "Pepper" but am also plaining to use an E-Collar to try and teach her to come back to me when called as she has become a little naughty about doing as she is told when off lead.
Mmmm not sure about clicker training the parrot, I wouldn't know what food to use as a reward for him, as unfortunatly his fave food is fed to him already in a parrot seed mix, and it would mean changing him over on dry parrot biskets which I can't get here in the remotes of Scotland.
When I lived in England I had a Cookatoo that I did train with seeds, she did summersaults, waved, danced, shook hands and a few other things, but I had to get rid of her when I moved to Scotland, the new house only had room for the one parrot
LOL Pepper is at that satge too, her worse one is COME, she often askes did you really mean I have to stop what I am doing and come to you now, don't you mean I can play a little bit more and come to you when I WANT TO, so she is going to get intouduced to a long line and an E-Collar if shes not carefull.
Are your dogs all pets or do you work them as well?

I'd start over with the recall. You will be amazed what a great foundation in the recall can do. If you have tainted your command by repeating it without means to reinforce, or calling for something bad (like a correction), I'd consider a new command.
