My Shaed got spayed yesterday, so no more heat, no more bleeding, and no more diaper and crazy male lab (Otto) trying to hump her head or trying to hump her the proper way. lol
So far she's doing really well, she's on a painkiller (pill form), Rymidal. She's eaten a little bit and doesn't seem to have much discomfort, but she's such a stoic dog sometimes that I wouldn't know that she was in real pain until it was really bad.
Now, I just have to wait for Lily to finish her heat, and keep Otto away from her a little longer, then she's getting spayed (likely at the end of June). Poor Otto has about lost his mind through this "heat season", first Shaed and now Lily. Keep thinking that the poor guy's going to have a heart attack! lol
I've yet to have a female notice they've just had major surgery from the moment they recover from the anaesthetic.
The fun part is convincing them they should NOT be running around.
Dogs are generally more resilient than people in this respect I think, because they don't really realize what's happened. So they don't worry about it like we do.
Today I went outside with her and she picked up her jolly ball and wanted me to throw it for her... I told her we couldn't do that yet, lol She's been getting up on furnature and trotting around-not running-and just being herself. She hasn't messed with the stitches or anything, although for good measure I got the cone for her collar.
I'm so glad that it went well and she's doing so good, and SUPER happy that my girl won't have to wear the ugly diaper that she hated,
