Hey everyone I am new to this forum and hope I put this post in the right place. Any way I was just wanting to know if any has had experience with canidae all life cycles recently. If so have you had any problems or are your dogs doing good on it? I read they changed their formula and some people are having problems.I just started my dogs on it this week so any experiences, suggestions or opinions on other foods(without corn) would be greatly appreciated.
I have used Canidae for close to a year now for my Siberian husky. Before Canidae I used Solid Gold Wolf Cub but she kept having loose stool with this. I can't tell if Canidae truly helped since about the time that I switched I started adding pumpkin to her feedings. At first I used regular Canidae and then switched to grain-free when they started carrying where I shop. All I can say is that gradually she has stopped eating as well. I don't know if she is bored with it or what. When this bag is done I am switching her to raw feedings.
I never had the courage to use it for my puppy. He eats all raw and absolutely thrives. My bet is when I switch my husky she will do better and like eating again.
To summarize, Canidae ALS seemed like a good dog food and it probably is but absolutely nothing seems to beat a raw diet for animals.

Once Canidae sold to Diamond I stopped using them. Shortly after they reformulated which looked great on paper but in practice resulted in a slew of complaints about digestion problems from dog owners. Some folks had no issues, in my opinion though there is enough evidence in the track record of Diamond processing to keep me steering clear of their products.
If you type dog food reviews into Google you will find a website that rates chows based upon appropriate levels of ingredients. I highly suggest checking it out.
Personally I cycle chows right now between what's on sale in the higher end of kibbles and never feed the same protein source twice if I can help it. Right now the open bag in the house is a bag of Natural Balance Lamb and Rice, next will be Instinct Chicken by Nature's Variety, then a bag of Taste of the Wild Bison formula. I also feed about 50% raw in a seperate meal if my life isn't insane that day.
I recently switched to Wellness Core. I was using Science Diet. That was crap and my dogs were having eating issues. Since the switch they are eating great and I made the switch pretty fast and there were no digestion issues. Its a little pricey but great food. Good luck.
Alec that is funny about our names I dont meet too many people with my name. Also thanks everyone so far for tour responses.Peter I do feed some raw with my kibble but I dont feel comfortable with complete raw . I dont want to not give my dogs enough nutrients but I am looking into a good raw diet.
You will find tons of information and people interested in helping you get going with an all raw diet if you like. All you have to do is ask and there are folks here that can help.
If you are feeding raw and kibble - a little advise - feed them at separate times not at the same time. It causes less intestinal distress when you do that due to the difference in the time it takes to digest raw versus kibble.
Also, just so you know, feeding raw will provide all the necessary nutrients that your dog needs unlike kibble which introduces things that your dog does not and can not properly digest. This may be part of your problem. Could be your dog is telling you to take him off the kibble.
My doberman, Kaiser, had terrible gastrointestinal issues trying to cope with kibble, I made the switch and all has been PERFECT since. It truly has been an amazing turn around in a number of areas.
Again, if and when you are ready to make a switch, let us know - we are here to help.
