This is my second post on this forum and once again hope I have it in the right place. I own a female american bulldog pup and she is not ready to breed yet. My wife and I have decided to give breeding a try. I am considering a 2yr old female that I know of but she has absolutely no social skills. She has never been on a leed to my knowledge and I am going to have my work cut out for me.I would greatly appreciate any advice, comments, and opinions that anyone has. What video or info should I get and does anyone have any tips on breaking her.I am sure I will have more questions on this decision I am faced with but like I said I appreciate any info.
Thanks

Does the bitch have a fantastic pedigree?
Is she a stunning example of the breed?
Does she have a well-rounded solid temperment?
What do you know about her parents?
Has she had Xrays and other health checks done?
Can you guarantee suitable homes?
What if you can't train her - will you still breed?
Is her lack of training down to the previous owner or does she have a 'fault' that makes training harder than is normal?
Why not do your research thoroughly and perhaps breed your puppy when she is old enough?
Have you considered the pack issues you may create by bringing another intact bitch (and puppies) into your home - with an existing female?
Will you provide backup for the pups in case the home doesn't work out? Otherwise they could end up in a pound and killed at a later date.
The questions I always ask a breeder - "Why do you want to breed?"
What is the purpose behind it? How will this litter contribute to the breed?
If you want a 'trial run' why not contact a rescue organisation? They quite often will have pregnant bitches that need fostering and you can see how much hard work it is (get the joy out of it) or whatever without bringing more puppies into the world.
Just remember that millions of dogs are killed each year in pounds. Be responsible - do not add to this statistic.
Also Randy is right. (as always)
Randy you are right I should use different terminology and should say teach and not break. Tanith those are some great views and opinions on the subject. I greatly appreciate them.I will keeep them in mind along the way and do my best to make the right choice.
Thanks again everyone I relly like this forum everyone has alot of good info so far.
