Wow. The braiding on those tabs looks better than most of what you can find in stores! Excellent work. Never used a pull tab though, so I have no further feedback.
I have a question though, aren't those DD (that one took a minute) collars too wide?

I really don't know the answer to your question. The width on the collar is 1/2". I guess that is quite a bit wider than nylon cord... Hopefully somebody with more experience will chime in.

The "Dominant Dog" collar that Leerburg sells is a pretty specific item, but it's a relative of the ubiquitous choke collar. I'd call these {very lovely } leather collars choke collars, but not true DD collars - their thickness prevents them from having the same severe effect on the airway. They are beautifully crafted though - nice work Ingrid!

Thank you, ma'am.
You're very welcome.
I should also point out, material thickness/width aside, I think the reason Ingrid may be categorizing her collars as DD collars is because they have a clasp - a run of the mill choke does not have a clasp, it just slips over the head, and since it has to be as wide in diameter as the widest part of the dog's head, it usually never naturally fits up tight under the jaw (until cinched by a correction). This is a big distinction, but, given the material aspect, I still don't think these leather versions would be quite as effective as the Leerburg DD collar. Perhaps I'm wrong though...

That's one of the things I always hated about choke collars. This could possibly be a step in between.
That said, I'd probably rock one of these on my boys...minus the blizzing.

Yes, you were absolutely correct Natalya, I was doing exactly as you said- categorizing by the clasp. Thank you for setting me straight!
Thanks to all who replied with kind words! To Michael, the rivets are hand set. I'm working my way up to making some collars like Paco Collars makes in California. The ones they make that I like are over $100- closer to $150! Here's one I really like: http://www.pacocollars.com/pview.php?pid=148
Any thoughts on the usefulness of a ring on the end of a tab? I'm not confident in one rivet to make the ring reliable in an emergency, so I'd rather not have one on there at all. Seems to me that the tab would have to be attached to a ring already so any further leashes could be clipped to that.

These seem like they would also make a good back-up collar for prongs!
