Now the only one who isn't altered and won't be is Otto. No more heat cycles and no more worrying about dogs trying to get it on, lol. Depending on what the vet suggests for what to do after the dewclaw removal, anyone have any info on what I can do to keep her from tearing out stitches? I plan on getting the cone collar for her, but I have a sneaking suspicion that she'll keep trying to get at them. Keleah

I have no idea about the abdominal stiches (never had a spayed female). The vet and/or vet techs will probably have some good suggestions though, if asked.

But the vet said most dogs leave the stitches alone - maybe a little licking, but they usually don't have a problem with dogs pulling them out. We've had 2 females spayed, and a male neutered and all three of them left the stitches alone - didn't even use an ecollar!
