I somehow managed to luck into 1st pick male.
I will be a nervous wreck until whelping.
I wasn't really in the market for a second GSD, but couldn't pass up the opportunity.
We can easily accomodate a second pup, and I welcome the challenge of training both Danke, and this new pup.
I am dreading the rearranging of the Jeep to fit a second crate, however.
Congratulations, Alyssa. You will be fantastic! Any mistakes you make on Danke (and I doubt there were many if any) won't be made on this guy and he will rock!
I was not surprised when Jean said she bought her. I think having Javir's name on that litter will help sales since she just imported her and doesn't have much time to advertise. I was a little concerned about the lack of time I had to get the word out about Capri's pups, but as it turned out, I needn't have worried.
Did she get Xenna (with two "N's") yet?
Hope you like your pup! Though it's hard not to like puppies...
Crap.
Yeah, I spelled the dam's name wrong. Thanks Jenni.
Shorted her an N.
I had Jean's older girl, Xena Ort on my mind (apparently she bloated and had to have emergency surgery a couple of days ago... poor ol' girl.)
Yes, Jean has Xenna now.
She will be having an ultrasound for pup count next week.
Xenna is a nice addition to the kennel now the Ittiana (Danke's dam) is retired.
I think Jean actually had the name wrong on her site, if I remember right. Maybe it's fixed now.
Ittiana is retired already? It doesn't seem like that long ago that she was born. Maybe I am getting old. That would've been 6 litters after Caleb's...and he's only 5.
Capri's puppies are awesome. 3 weeks tomorrow, and I think Capri is counting down the days until they leave. They are VERY active for their age. I thought I'd get more than 2 weeks use out of a 16" high box, but I already had fugitives escaping. Makes me nervous to go to work, but I don't really know what to do. I tried to make it as escape proof as possible, but I really didn't expect them to still be half-blind and climbing out of the box.
I just looked at the website and Jean is doing a repeat Lux x Ittiana breeding in October. So no, I guess she isn't retired.
*shrug* Not sure why I thought she was. Guess I mentally lumped her in with the three she just retired.
Congratulations Alyssa. I think the breeder placing her pick male with you says a lot about what you have done with Danke, its not just luck. You've put yourself in this position through all your work.
There has been a slight change in tonight's program.
The new puppy will be a female, as the litter did not produce a male.
Her name is Qashmir (think of the Led Zeppelin song Kashmir... Same thing, but hey, it's a Q litter.) Von Schraderhaus.
I will post pictures as SOON as they are available.
