Hi there everyone. It has been way too long.
I am so excited to finally be back online, and be able to give a VERY long overdue update on Ivan.
I met a bunch of you guys at the Michael Ellis seminar, and I was asked a few times to keep you guys posted...
Ivan is testing for his therapy cert on July 12!!!
He has his CGC now, and we have started work in HRD as well. I will update with pics and (hopefully) a video of his test when we take it.
He has come so far, it's incredible. We are working in an advanced obedience class once a week, and the majority of the work is completely off leash now.
He is also learning a little agility, though mostly just for fun, because he just really loves to work and I keep trying to mix it up for him a little. Anything involving climbing or jumping gets him very excited ;-)
Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and support on this journey - especially to Ed for the great advice and support, Will Rambeau (the first person to meet and believe in Ivan) and Ronnie for the words of encouragement and suggestions for use with e-collar work.
And ESPECIALLY for Michael Ellis's help with Ivan's first steps toward learning how to play and have fun.
This site has been a godsend to me (and Ivan!)
Thanks you guys!

Cameron, really nice to see you posting again! I'm glad to hear that Ivan is doing so well, and you certainly deserve high marks for believing in and standing by this dog.
Thanks Lynne!
I have to say though, anyone who met this dog would understand how easy it was to trust that he would be great no matter what he ended up doing... he is just a big sweetie...
