capone and i have started training, this is only our second "session", for both of us. this is his first time on a sleeve. i thought i would share, keep in mind, i am a newb and suck at this, lol. the dog did ok...
Hey Mallory! From one newb to another, it looks like Capone is having a blast! Tail up, enthusiastic! You 2 look like you are having so much fun. Keep it up. You both look great IMHO.
he LOVES it. since i got him, i couldn't get him to play tug or anything for the life of me, he doesn't chase anything, he ONLY likes wrestling. he wouldn't open his mouth to play bite or anything, he would do the "flea bite" on my skin, while slamming into me. after what seemed like forever, he one day decided he wanted to bite and tug on towels i was folding, since then, we've been playing tug, but not even that often.
i took him to class my bf went to with his dog to have the decoys look at him and see if it was worth doing anything, and he LIT UP like you wouldn't believe, it was awesome. that was just last week.
Fess up though Mallory, are you smiling that much in conformation class?
ugh....no.
tripper is doing GREAT, im not doing bad...but stacking that rat dog is a PITA. he will stand there all calm while i place his feet, and every time, he will put them right back where they were.
I'd say you are off to a great start and it it obvious your dog is having a blasgt. My only dissapointment was I was hoping it was going to be your little green dog doing the bite work - THAT would have been great!
haha, we will see what the little dog can learn to do, he will tug and hang, but i have to place the rag in his open mouth.
thanks for the replies, we did have a blast...apparently, i didn't stop smiling the whole time, lol. The trainers think i can get a PDC on him at the upcoming september trial, we shall see. between now and then, we are also working on getting him his CGC and ATTS.
