Does anyone know of a place you can get ground beef online for a good price? Kasey eats mostly chicken and beef, and the beef is costing a lot - Costco @ $2.89 lb is the cheapest I can find and that is a lot! I was hoping there would be a way to get it cheaper. Also, I've been giving him the 20% fat stuff - it's less for the 30%, but that's too much fat, right?
I feed 80/20 beef all the time to my dogs. Dogs need fat in their diets. 80/20 is not too high of a fat content unless you dogs has some medical issues etc. I believe that this wasa discussed not that long ago. Watch the sales. I buy most of my meat from a restaraunt wholesale supplier. I have an upright freezer in my garage that I store my dog food. I buy in large quantities (10 lb logs of ground meat, 20 boxes of necks, backs, etc) I also will buy at the supermarkets when they have great sales. I live in CT so I have no idea about where you can find wholesalers where you live. Try some of the raw feeder boards & look for where people in your area purchase their meats. You might also find someone to share larger boxes of meats, if you don't have enough storage space. Buying in large quanties is the only way to really feed dogs raw ecconimically, especially with large breed multiple dogs.

Yes, I was asking if 30% is too much
I already do feed him 20%. I do buy chicken in large amounts, that's why I'm looking to see if I can do the same with ground beef somewhere. We do not have suppliers around here, I've checked, so I'm wondering if anyone gets it online.

Around here, one can buy ground beef at Sam's Club for $1.49 per pound, when purchased in an 80-pound bulk case. I'm not sure if that price is the same everywhere.

Wow! Great price! How big is that? I'm trying to picture it. Does it fit into, say, one half of a chest freezer?
