Are you meaning that your puppy does not "play" with the helper? What is the helper doing with him? Leather rag on a line? Bite tug? How does your puppy react? Is this new or has he never interacted well with the helper? How long have you been at it?
At 7 months he might very well be teething which could affect his ability to enjoy the tug games and hence his enjoyment of interacting with the helper. Some puppies don't care about teething when it comes to tugging, some do.
Not sure which podcast you are referring to but every dog is different and there is no one answer that will fit all dogs. What does your helper/training director say about your puppy's behavior?
It is the second time to face the helper only me play with her before, it is no pressure just a very beginning rug and tug games. My helper try everything to stimulate her ,she just looking around,he said it might be no other people play with her ,beside me.
The podcast is #3 Theory of motivation.I know it is no equation in dog training, but problem must have reasons;genes, wrong method, etc.
My helper said I lack on the early stage (2-3 months)training ,play tug and rag.
My training mentor said she is late mature girl just wait until 9 months old, do as much as socialization on her now?
I had one who never would play w/strangers. Play was for me; biting was for the decoy. The dog would bite the decoy, but never engage in play w/him. It could just be that this is the nature of the dog. Or, it could be that she doesn't play w/anyone else, but usually a puppy isn't that discriminating as to who they will play with, although 7mos is getting to the point where she may be getting suspicious enough (if she's got that kind of temperament) that she may not want to engage in tug games w/anyone but you. It may be that she sees the decoy as a real threat and therefore won't play.
What do you think it is? No one knows her better than you.
What are you trying to do w/the dog? Sport? PPD? Just having fun? Hard to say what to try next w/out knowing your end goal.
