Is it ok if only my husband and I play with/feed/pet my working pup (1yr old). I know that you aren't supposed to let strangers mess with your pup but will letting him mess him up? thanks!
no its not, your husband is just going to have to move out for about a year until you get your pupper trained......
If the Mr is on board with the training plan I don't see a prob with it but if he is anything like my wife, who actually set me back on my training goals in some areas then I would make other arrangements ie kennels, runs etc. If he insists on "spoiling" or breaking training I would recommend you go to his closet, take out his golf clubs and start hitting rocks and dog poo over the fence. He should get the idea that you won't ruin his hobby for him if he doesn't ruin it for you
My wife and I were having some off-page issues with our pup. What I did was just show her what I was doing with him and asked her to do the same so he didn't get confused. I made sure that it was for the pup's benefit and not a confrontation. I was recently on tour with my band for 10 days and he'd hardly slipped in his manners or obedience at all when I got back. Where he had slipped was just from her not being as firm with him as I am, which he needs or he bounces off the walls...sometimes literally.
