Cherlee Reid Webboard User Reg: 08-15-2009 Posts: 21 Loc: S. CA Offline	A female Doberman, almost 16 weeks. She learned SIT, DOWN, and SHAKE each in 10 minutes at 11 weeks. I'm having trouble with STAND. I used UP with our previous dog instead of STAND. She doesn't seem to "get" the STAND command. At the risk of confusing her, I tried UP. She still doesn't get it, and she "thinks hard" and ends up laying down (cute, actually). I've decided to stick with STAND in the past couple of weeks. I use a leash and food and treat her as soon as she gets up. I also use my foot to push her up. She responds well with aids but not verbally. Hope this isn't a dumb question. She's still much of a baby without attention span, but I'm wondering if I should keep training daily with STAND (I know she'll eventually get it) or change the word? If I should change the word, when should I give up on STAND? Maybe at 6 months (8 more weeks)? I'm not inpatient, but it's just not much fun (for me) without a new trick .

I HIGHLY recommend the method shown on this video.
