hi folks
a bit off the topic of training but hey, it's Saturday.
Our 1.5 y.o. lab mutt weighs 45 lbs. Very much lab attributes but she has an underbite (which is quite cute), her tongue has black spots on it, and she has, her bottom lip is kind of extended. It's not just a ordinary "lip". Strange but true.
Any ideas? ( I'd post a pic but I can't seem to figure out how to do that. )
Thanks
Chuck and AngeLayla
We named her that because her lip makes me think of Angelina Jolie!
I don't know if this helps, but when she lays on the ground, she more or less always has her back legs kind of scrunched up underneath her...with only her "knees" protruding.
My dog has a spotted tongue. Well one spot. Vet stated and research shows it's basically a birth mark, even though my dog's came in at about a year old. Here is a link that talks more about this http://www.columbusdogconnection.com/BlackTongueDebate.htm
as for the underbite, could just be what the parents had and it was genetic. I've seen this in numerous purebreds just bad genes. I too think he looks dominantly like a lab. If you are that curious they sell a DNA test that you can mail in and they will tell you dominant and secondary breeds. I've never done it but have seen the ads. Just google dog DNA test.

my best guess based upon body and other details is a field lab x with a boxer. let us know if you ever do a heritage test. Those are always entertaining.
What a sweetheart! How would you call that a boxador? I personally call my dog a Shepador. I have been considering the mail in test myself. I have a dog that looks incredibly like a very small Argentine Dogo when he stands alert and his profile, Ididn't even know what a Dogo was until I googled it. I've been calling him a boxer, Frenchy mix as he has the bulldog back legs.
