I am wondering if any of you have had litters as a result of slip mating.
We brought the stud to my house on my bull terrier females 9th day of heat. She would stand and he would mount her and she would eventually turn around and snap at him. On the 10th and 11th day she has no problems with him and is standing and flagging but all we are getting is slip matings. I have litterally held them together until the male stops thrusting and then kept holding and when I try to help him dismount he just comes right out, engorged.
I've let them do it without any help and it's basically the same thing. Could this be because she really isn't ready yet? Or maybe a problem with the stud? This would be her third litter. The first time we had this problem for the first few days (she was a maiden bitch) and then they tied without a problem (same stud.) The second mating was a different stud and they only were put together once and only tied once, right away. She did not have any problem whatsoever that time, but that was a different stud.
Just not sure if there's anything I can do but wait it out....
Also, I'm pregnant and due at any moment! We expected her to go into heat a month ago!
Any advice or stories of your experiences would be appreciated!

A friend of mine has had a litter of poodles resulting from one. It happens but isn't exactly common or desired. I don't exactly have a big enough sampling to say if any abnormal results happen because of it.
Her poodle litter was a small litter though. No way to say if it was related or not.
